Why does the dentist take digital X-rays during a routine exam?

What is the difference between brushing at home and a professional teeth cleaning?

  • Customer service here has tanked recently and I was wondering why. I asked the receptionist if they were under new management, to which she ignored my question. I come here to see that my dentist isn't even working here anymore. Which is a shame because he would have never allowed things to operate like this. Isn't it customary to notify patients when there has been a change in providers? In addition to this, dealing with this office this week has been nightmarish. I was told we had to reschedule our appointment because we were running 5 minutes late. The hygenist wants us to allow them flexibility when they're calling and cancelling appointments the week of, but wont allow any flexibility for patients within a 15 minute grace period? (Which apparently no longer applies here) When i asked to speak to the manager Nicole, she got my side of the story, asked me to hold, and proceeded to hang up the phone, and never called me back! I called back the next day and was placed on hold for over 30 minutes! During my wait, I came here to do some investigating (suspicions confirmed), then I called again on my work cell only for them to answer promptly! This gave me the impression that I was purposely left on hold. Newsflash Kenwood Dental...you're not the only business in town! This is sad because this was one of the last black-owned dentist offices in the area that gave you that traditional old school professional dental office feel. Unfortunately, we will now be taking our business somewhere else. I dont willingly deal with poor customer service of this magnitude.

  • Good morning, I was just sharing some amazing information about a dentist his name is Dr Maclin, he’s an amazing dentist with an unmeasured amount of patience. His staff is very professional and I just wanted to share my experience..

  • My family started here because Dr Mensa was there (a professional black woman dentist who was very articulate and helpful). Since she left the service is terrible. I got a call that if I didn’t confirm my appointment it would be cancelled a day before which was never the practice. I confirmed and showed up after leaving work with my daughter for her 4pm appointment. I got there at 4:03 after having to get parking due to the lot being full. The receptionist did not greet me. Finally just said our last name to confirm we were the 4oclock. Usually Dr Mensa’s staff would take us back immediately or tell us how long of a wait if ever there was a delay. After sitting watching the receptionist have a conversation for almost ten minutes with another patient who was clearly double (or worse) booked and never seeing her notify anyone we were here, I ask, is there a delay? She says she doesn’t know. She then just sits there. I then rephrase the question to ask if she knew how long it would be? She gets up to talk to someone and you could hear a tone coming from this person that sounded very flippant and dismissive. The girl comes back and just sits at the desk. So I ask again, if she knows how long. She says she doesn’t know, but they doctor is with someone else. Then the woman who could be heard speaking in an unprofessional tone to reception, comes our and immediately starts telling me I only got here at 4:08 and it’s 4:10 but I arrived at 4:03 and regardless I just wanted an ETA because my time is as valuable as theirs. Well she didn’t like that I corrected the time and responds “Well if you can’t wait, reschedule “ I say again, I just want an ETA if possible as that is not too much to ask. She says this a medical professional office and you should be used to waiting. So I had to walk out because clearly these people have no respect and are going to ruin the legacy Dr Mensa built for Kenwood. Can’t believe this was the dentist telling me that if I didn’t want to wait I could reschedule an appointment I booked six months ago for my daughter when all I was asking was if they knew how long of a delay. Why would you book so many people at once and then get mad because I respect myself enough to ask to be treated like the paying customer and human being I am. Shameful. Well now I gotta find another dentist.

  • My experience with Kenwood Dental Group has been wonderful. The professionalism, attention to details, punctuality and overall pleasant environment, made me immediately comfortable. Dr. Maclin worked with me until we were both completely satisfied with the results of my treatment. I never felt rushed. Recently I had a medical emergency in his office. (unrelated to dentistry) Dr. Maclin was so comforting and reassuring and immediately got me the the help I needed. This speaks volumes about his character outside of being an excellent dentist.

  • Most dental visits feel so intimidating especially for new patients. Kenwood dental positively went above and beyond to make sure I was heard effectively and handled delicately with my sensitive dental situation. Very clean and positive place to be. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to meet a stellar staff and astonishing dentistry in our area.
